from thegenealogydetectives.com

Jordan Auslander is a New York based forensic genealogist, title & real estate historian. He has pursued cases across the United States, Europe and Israel.

Jordan has published an index to Jewish records in Slovakia and The Genealogical Gazetteer of the Kingdom of Hungary.

He is a former board member of Jewish Genealogical Society, NY.

Jordan has applied his acting pretensions as “Heir Jordan, Extreme Genealogist,” for RootsTelevision.com. This won him a Telly award in 2008.

For this IAJGS conference he will reprise  his role as the ‘reliably inappropriate’ host of IAJGS conference Gameshow Night.

Jordan is the Genealogy Detective. See his website at http://www.thegenealogydetectives.com/

“Game Show Night/Jewpardy” (Weds-167), 7:30-10:00 P.M.

[This evening entertainment will be included in Live!]

This will be an encore performance, continuing the heritage of Jewpardy (Jewish Genealogy Jeopardy) which has been very well received at recent IAJGS conferences (Boston, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Philadelphia).

Jordan Auslander will be the Master of Ceremonies, giving lots of color commentary with the game board questions and contestants. Ron Arons will operate the game board from behind the scenes. Lots of laughter and possibly some education along the way.

“Genealogy in Gotham: New York City Research” (Thurs-117), 4:30-5:45 P.M.

Between 1820 and 1920 over 82% of immigrants to the United States came through the port of New York. Even if they migrated elsewhere, over 100,000,000 Americans have an ancestral paper trail that involves New York City.

Learn how to trace your New York ancestors, whether they were passing through or called it home.
